HRD Attestation is mandatory for getting embassy attestation / apostille process done on educational documents.
HRD attestation is the process of verification/authentication of certificate / document from the particular state HRD department it is issued.Therefore certificates issued from Karnataka should be attested from Karnataka HRD department after verification from college/university.
It is to be noted that Karnataka is divided into 4 revenue regions.HRD Attestation is done on the basis of revenue region.Eg.Certificates issued under Bangalore region is attested by Bangalore HRD department :
A) Bangalore/Bengaluru Revenue Region – Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagar, Kolar, Chickballapur, Tumkur, Davangere, Chitradurga and Shimoga
B) Mysore/Mysuru Revenue Region – Mysore, Mandya, Hassan, Chickmagalur, Dakshina Kannada ( Mangalore), Udupi, Kodagu and Chamaraja Nagar.
C) Belgaum/Belagavi Revenue Region – Belgaum, Dharwad, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Uttar Kannada (Karwar), Haveri and Gadag.
D) Gulbarga Revenue Region – Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur,Koppal and Bellary.
